Local Area Agreement - Headline Outcomes
The fifteen agreed headline outcomes in the Cheshire LAA are:
1. Improved quality of life for Cheshire people living in the most multiply deprived neighbourhoods in England; service providers more responsive to neighbourhood needs; and improved service delivery.
2. Empower local people to have a greater choice and influence over local decision-making and a greater role in public service delivery.
3. An area where people feel safe - living, learning, working and playing in a high quality environment.
4. Reduce crime and disorder levels.
5. Improve educational attainment skills and employability.
6. Enjoy Cheshire and its distinctiveness.
7. Improve health and reduce health inequalities with a particular focus on reducing the gap in premature mortality rates between the most deprived 20% of wards and the least 20%.
8. Reduce the harm caused by alcohol.
9. Improve independence, well-being and choice for older people, where appropriate and chosen.
10. Maintain an entrepreneurial and diverse economy.
11. Promote waste minimisation, reuse and recycling.
12. Reduce the contribution to and manage the effects of climate change.
13. Provide accessible, appropriate, affordable and sustainable housing.
14. Strengthen the connected sub-region and improve accessibility.
15. Increase the proportion of the population in employment, ensuring that this growth narrows the gap between those neighbourhoods with the highest rates of worklessness and the average for the county as a whole.
