Cheshire Local Area Agreement 2008-2011
The Communities of Cheshire Partnership and the Cheshire Governance Board agreed that a more flexible approach to LAA development in Cheshire be adopted in the light of imminent local government re-organisation.
Work has therefore continued to develop a "severable" transitional LAA for Cheshire, which would include disaggregated targets where appropriate for East and West Cheshire for at least 2008/9 and set a longer-term direction of travel for 2009-11 for the new Councils and their strategic partners. Every effort has been made to differentiate the targets on an East/West/locality basis to reflect local priorities and the need for different solutions in different parts of the county where this is relevant and practicable.
The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government approved the LAA submitted at the end of June 2008.

A delivery plan for each of the performance indicators measuring progress against the identified priorities for action (identified in the interim Sustainable Community Strategy for Cheshire will be developed by the responsible partner and will identify the key activitie, performance milestones and resources. The plans will also indicate the risks and their likelihood attached to each indicator and an equality needs impact assessment.
The new Cheshire LAA is below, however, there are still some outstanding details to be completed for the local, or non-designated, performance indicators. The sixteen statutory education and early years attainment performance indicators are still under development (August 2008).
