Local Public Service Agreements
These are agreements with Government
which set out a commitment to improve performance against agreed targets
in return for Performance Reward Grant and greater freedom and flexibilities.
In April 2002, Cheshire entered into its first Local Public Service Agreement
which consisted of 13 targets, 12 of which showed improved performance
over
and above that which could have been expected. The agreement came to
an end on 31 March 2005 and, over the course of the three years, partners
worked
closely with the County Council to deliver improvements in services to
the residents of Cheshire which delivered around £10m in performance
reward grant.
Following on from the success of the first agreement, Cheshire’s second generation LPSA, the culmination of 18-months of robust and productive partnership working through The Cheshire Partnership, was launched in April 2005. The agreement seeks to improve performance across 11 target areas and will run to the end of March 2008.
